I dont beleive they would put 300+ mb flashable rom and torment people just to add google books.

downloading now, install and same like previous versions ( ....b952,b960):

- new bootlogo ( vodafone)

- no toggles

- after reset phone, sd card stay default

all other works ok, testing now, cheers.

It has only 18mb and seems to be a google update only. (as mentioned by a user)

Back in B952 time I have to flash another small (544KB) update.app (included in the update package I've downloaded from the Vodafone Hungary website) after the main update.app to get the toggles.

Fair enough but it's still not clear what the difference between B961 and earlier versions is...

What is 18MB? The B961 update is 389.41 MB.

Sorry that "18 MB" wasn't about the link posted in the OP I was referring to, someone else posted here about B961 too.

this update is practicly same like previously versions, i try it but i didnt find any diference (after restart default storage ometimes stay as sd card, sometimes back to internal, you can set toggles as power widget, not in status bar, speed, stability, battery,... same like in b952.). cyda's stock+ works like charm. :)

It's an update.app - not a zip for CWM/TWRP flashing.

I upgraded today, looks the same as B952 with added Google Books.

At first it seems to be a little faster than B952, though. But... at the price of battery life (my battery got from 100 to 80 in about 10 minutes). I wonder how many times a day it will need charging... :(

Very often a new/clean install will be faster than one that has been used for a while.

Cleaning cache on an old one may help.

Battery usage will depend a lot on what you have running. BetterBatteryStats, CPU Spy [Plus], Wakelock Detector etc. are useful tools for pinpointing battery drains.

In my experience having 3G enabled absolutely kills the G300 battery. I generally used it with just 2G enabled and manually toggled 3G on when needed. Not ideal but that way I could get c. 2+ days out of the battery. I also tweaked a few things using the tools above to reduce battery drain.
