Question RE ICS Updated

Hi all

 

I have bought this phone for my wife, it was locked to Vodafone.

I have unlocked it via a code purchased from ebay and she is now using it on the 3 network.

My question is if i install the official ICS update will this re-lock the phone or is the unlock permanent?.
