Syncronizing contacts from gmail

I have the G300 on Vodafone which is unlocked and running ICS.

 

My email client is Aqua-Mail. I cannot get the contacts to show although they show on my Sony tablet. Could some one throw some light on how i can do this.

Do you have contacts syncing enabled on your G300 under your Google account in Settings?

Hi yes i have just ticked the sync in Gmail on my phone which Aqua-mail uses but still no contacts. I don't even have contacts in Gmail on my phone. Do i need an app to use with Gmail for contacts as i can't see any where on the message page for a listing?
