Suing Orange for Ear Damage!?

I did do a search for something on this but couldn't find anything ...

I'm chatting away on the phone when I loose the signal and my SPV bleeps at full volume in my ear (disconnecting sound) I'm not joking when I say that my ear hurts for up to 30 mins afterwards?!?!?!

This also happens if I get a message/reminder when you're on the phone.

Any ideas/comments?

Cheers - Dave

Dave,

Have you check the 'in-call alert volume'? It's in 'settings/accessability'. That sounds like it might do the trick.

Cheers,

Dave.

Well I hadn't but looking at it I guess that would make the ring volume lower? ... and that's no good to me when I'm not on the phone as I will not able to hear it ringing. (i.e. - if it's in my bag/pocket)

Surely there should be a setting that says lower the ring tone volume when you're using the headset or hands free!?!?

As both my message alert and reminder sounds are samples of people talking I have had callers asking "who's that there with you" when I'm on the phone.

On a serious note - if this can not be fixed then I will eventually go deaf!!!

Cheers - Dave

The setting in question should only affect the alerts whilst making a call - it's separate to the ring tone volume, so you should still be able to hear the phone if it rings whilst in your bag or pocket. In fact I just checked it - I set the in-call alert to 'off', then rang the phone, and the regular ring tone wastill at it's normal level.

Not sure if it works yet ... difficult to test. Do you think that this setting will decrease the volume for the disconnection sound also?

There's the same issue with an engaged tone. Apparently it's fixed in the update
