All the reasons above are true. 2GB limit on 4G just isn't appealing to me at all when I have unlimited at the moment I may not average a lot more than 2GB, but being limited would just annoy me when I have freedom at the moment to not worry those odd months when I excess my 3GB average.

Its all very well being able to stream hd video or whatever to your phone, but when buying the dvd would be cheaper than streaming it, it renders the entire thing a pointless waste of money. There is just no reason to upgrade from 3g/3g+ at the moment, its plenty fast enough for most tasks, and a shedload cheaper.
Guest Thumper Net Posted March 11, 2014 Report Posted March 11, 2014 Holland seem lucky with 4g as it comes free with contracts and is faster than my home wifi , which is why i got a vodafone nl contract for around 40 pounds with unlimited calls and sms and 6gb of data , cool on my htc one , the uk should follow the dutch on this as it makes people upgrade their contacts and not hold on to older contracts.

I think at times these companies play the "It's new technology so therefore we can charge more regardless of costs to ourselves", game. Similar to 3G on initial release ridiculous costs at the start. Currently I am searching for alternatives to Giff-Gaff as their deals are no longer an attractive alternative

Their 321 PAYG sim is cheaper than GiffGaff and 4G at no extra cost when and where available. I think most ex-OVIVO customers (myself included) have moved to 3 instead of GiffGaff.
