Guest woof Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Hi all, I have my new SPV, and of course Ive been playing, so much so Ive done something and dont know how to change it. It comes up with "Radio Off" so I cant get reception, how do I turn it back on?? Thanks
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Breifly press the power button and you will see the option to turn the radio on.
Guest Firaas Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Push the power button (push, not hold), and you'll get a Quick List. Select option 4... Bah, got beaten to it. Ah well, that's what comes of sitting around waiting for topics to appear on a slow day :)
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 hey woof, easy enuf to fix, just press the quicklist button on the top left hand side of your phone (its the small round one ;)) from the list choose number 4 radio on and roberts your fathers brother. have fun with your SPV and welcome to the club :)
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 oops looks like i was beaten to it again oh well, the things you do to try to stop being a newbie :)
Guest woof Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Cheers guys, its easy to slip up and get lost when you dont know what your doing with this phone. Does any one know how to get the name to come up with the SMS messages, it just comes up with the number and not the name
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Once again its easy if you know how. you need the outlook contact reformatter. if you search for it you should find it in the software section. Might be a good idea if you posted these in the begginers section tho, just in case you get a sarky reply from one of our overstressed members ;) have a good one :)

Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Almost.... I was about to give a sarky reply...
Guest Firaas Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 STOP POSTING SECONDS BEFORE/AFTER I DO! :) ;) We desperately need more posts on the boards!
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 not that i was saying anybody here would do that :)
Guest woof Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Ok, your all going to have a go at me again, and Im sorry im learning, Im sure you all had similer questions when you first started, so there is no need to stress at new comers, Its a quick 1 min job to reply, and whats the point of a forum if you cant ask questions. Stop stressin The link someone gave me above dont help, all my phone numbers are stored on my sim and on the phone and the name still dont come up. When you say look in the programs section, where, I cant find anything and Ive been through most of them Thanks to all that has helped, with out having a moan Russ
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 There is a Software forum, and a forum search for "outlook contact reformatter" can easily throw up a direct link the the thread. It's just as easy for you to search as it is to post a new thread. At least consider putting beginner questions in the beginner section
Guest woof Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Thanks Monolithix I didnt think of using the search. and as for putting it in the begineers forum, Ive tried that before and people dont seem to look in there much as everyone seems to look down at begineers
Guest Firaas Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Ok, your all going to have a go at me again, and Im sorry im learning, Im sure you all had similer questions when you first started, so there is no need to stress at new comers, Its a quick 1 min job to reply, and whats the point of a forum if you cant ask questions. It might be just a one minute job to reply solely to your post. In fact, it took me about three. If just twenty people posted in one night on topics that were already covered, it would take around an hour of someone's time to reply. And the forums would be filled with the same old boring rubbish. Questions like these are what the Beginner forum was made for. You can expect people over there to be patient. We did have the same questions when we got our phones, but they were discussed while issues were discovered, and are still on the boards. That's the point in having a Search function and keeping posts archived. In response to your question, if you want an answer from this forum, search for it. Orange's answer is: Q: Why doesn't the SPV display the names of people on my contacts list who send text messages or ring me, rather than just their numbers? A: The SPV will display the names if contact numbers are stored in the correct international format, beginning with a country code (eg +44) and with no spaces or brackets. Storing the numbers on the phone like this has no effect on making calls or sending messages, so we recommend editing your numbers into that format.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Usually because the majority of beginner questions can be quickly answered with a forum search ;p
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 20, 2003 Report Posted February 20, 2003 Thanks Monolithix I didnt think of using the search. and as for putting it in the begineers forum, Ive tried that before and people dont seem to look in there much as everyone seems to look down at begineers No one looks down at beginners, like you said we all have to start somewhere. Come on everyone lets play nice :) And woof, members do look in this section and we do try to help if we can. but there can be a lot of posts to go through. post moved to beginners section
