Does anyone else sometimes unlock their phone to find it responding unreasonably slow? Is it busy with something or is the CPU governor slow to put the CPU back at full power?

It was because of the Interactive CPU governor. The Ondemand one doesn't have this problem.

I never have such a problem with interactive , and with any other governor with any rom ... i use interactive over a month , never faced slowdown , it seems weird to me.

My ROM is default (never changed it). I've tried changing governor multiple times between Interactive and Ondemand and this problem is precipitated by Interactive every time. There must be other factors but I've no idea what they are. It's not a big deal, I guess; I'll just keep using Ondemand.

Ok , i don't know about stock rom , i never use it and i will never use a stock rom in any device ... i can't understand usage of stock rom and i will never understand people who using stock rom ... so if you're ok with ondemand , you're just fine.

Maybe you could benchmark the different ROMs and I'd know which one to install :)

I never use benchmarks apps , they're useless , for me benchmarks apps are for decreasing your data memory space and nothing more , you can install more usefull apps on your phone than benchmarks apps.

I'm sure that if you flash a custom rom you will never go back to stock again.

Don't judge a rom with benchmarks , just use a rom and feel the difference.

Due to the placebo effect, I don't really trust feelings that aren't backed up by hard data!

I don't think benchmark apps are meant to be installed permanently - I think the idea would be that you install a ROM or make some other significant change and then install the benchmark app to ascertain the difference in performance before uninstalling the app.
