Guest pagdodd Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 Have tried googling this with no joy. Has anyone else had issues installing Real Racing 3? I have installed the game fine, but on first run it needs to download the data file. But seems to crash EVERYTIME and it wont run at all. Bought the Hudl for my son and he is obsessed with the game so any help please? :)
Guest Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 (edited) Just be aware, some apps / games (especially) etc may not work fully on the hudl2 - this is due to it using an Intel Atom Bay Trail processor as apposed to the ARM processor line. It does contain a binary translation layer that works on most (virtually all - sorry for the pun) apps, some games are much trickier and just won't work or run 100% - unless they are also released by the devs as native Intel versions, Here's an example of what I'm talking about. I'm sure this is just a transition period while Intel Atom Bay Trail androind tablets become much more common. (edit: it's an old link but shows the possible issue you have, here's a better link.) Edited November 22, 2014 by Guest
Guest pagdodd Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 I see, thank you. However, after Googling it. I could see folk commending the Hudl2 because it CAN run it. So maybe latest update of the game has broken it?
Guest turboteeth Posted November 22, 2014 Report Posted November 22, 2014 i have it and it runs perfect but downloading the extra data is a pain it took hours on my hudl2 and on my nexus, its always been the same it must be the crappy servers its been like it for years
Guest gidtf Posted November 24, 2014 Report Posted November 24, 2014 The Game worked fine on my Hudl2 until the last Nov update. Now when I start it up, it fails with the message unfortunately Real Racing 3 has stopped.
Guest Swanseajack Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 It's a known issue with x86 chips, the makers are working on a fix for the next update.
Guest pagdodd Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 Thanks All, hopefully update will fix. It seems to be broken on the iPad version too. so figured it was a server issue.
Guest turboteeth Posted December 24, 2014 Report Posted December 24, 2014 I assume this has been fixed now, I've had no issues with this game since the last update released earlier this month?
Guest dennissingh99 Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 I'm still having issues. Is there any fix to this
Guest crusader58 Posted September 24, 2015 Report Posted September 24, 2015 Just out of curiosity, do you have 'unknown sources' checked in your Security settings...as I'm pretty sure without doing so you won't be able to download the data.

It should now download the needed data when you next run it. Should work after that. :0)

Then if I close it and try to start it again the error comes again

Guest AV2012 Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) It certainly works now. I was able to screen capture the following footage of it running on my Hudl 2 Lollipop: Edited June 7, 2016 by AV2012 Spelling
