Anyone losing photos when using the 4.4.4 camera?

I am.  It seems to be after the recent update - non 5.0 - to my Moto G 1st gen.  The snap is definitely taken and can be seen disappearing off to the right of the screen, indicating that it will be in Gallery yet, when I look, it's not there!  Very irritating.  I downloaded a few other apps - ifCamera, FutureCam - and it doesn't seem to happen with them but I was initially put off by their interfaces and lost important pics anyway through fumbling! 

 

I ask this here as it just might be a Motorola thing; if not I'll migrate it to the General Discussion regions.
