How to root ZTE Kis 3 Max - Mediatek

Will someone be a star and point me in the right direction to root this phone.  I've tried all the auto tools framaroot etc none work. Exploits don't work. I've tried to get advice on another thread but discovered this model is Mediatek. It is a cheapy phone but I bought it for my kid bro and I would like to access the 32gb external sd card for extra games. It's on kitkat 4.4.4. The built in memory is only 1gb.

 

Can you tell me if this phone can root at all? I'm starting to believe it's not possible.
