Grab http://down.comebuy.com/Open_c_root_Android4.4.rar

Download, place both zips on your sd card.

Grab the GApps you want from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942 and place on sd card

Grab Konstat's CWM Recovery zip build from here: http://www.modaco.com/topic/373213-recovery-clockworkmod-6050-for-zte-open-c-kis-3/ and place on sd card.

Okay, use the Android to FFOS update to flash back to FFOS.

Reboot into recovery and use the CWM zip on the FFOS recovery, it works due to Test Keys being used with the FFOS build.

Reboot into CWM recovery, flash FFOS to Android update, and flash the relevant GApps package,

Finally reboot and you will be using the ZTE Kis 3 rom, plus Google Apps, with the added bonus of ClockworkMod Recovery.

Any issues with the above, I will add screenshots later.

Hello,

I tried your guide with my Open C but there is a problem. I reverted back from Android to FFOS. When I try to apply the CWM (recovery-clockwork-6.0.5.0-kis3.zip) in recovery mode, it gives the error: "failed to verify whole-file signature". The same error occurs when I apply the update from the Android recovery.

I had to install the CWM through adb instead of sd card, but after that it worked! Thanks

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what's the point of this guide. It's too difficult at least. :P AFAIK you can't flash any regular packages with the stock recovery.img that comes in comebuy zips linked in the first post. It's the engineering build recovery.img that comes with the Windows flasher that uses test keys (and you can only flash zips that are signed with that key - not all of them are).

Install Android, install ClockWorkMod, install gapps in CWM. Simple as that. No point in going back and forth with Firefox OS. And of course also make a nandroid backup in CWM before flashing the gapps just in case.

Hi again, and thank you for the post btw.
Just wanted to know if there's any method to move the apps to SD. I need some apps and I have to frecuently delete another to make a download.
