magnetic cases that sleep the device

I bought the official soft touch cases with magnetic closure for my kids hudl 2 tablets

I was hoping that the magnetic closure would sleep the tablets when closed and wake them when opened  (like ipads) but this doesnt seem to be the case. Is this function available for the hudl 2? Its a pain as the kids leave stuff running when they close the case , like movies and it drains the battery in no time.

I'm afraid that feature depends on the tablet manufacturer building the sensor into the tablet, and Tesco haven't. That and tap-to-wake are the two "premium" features I miss the most compared to my phone.
