Guest jamie_ Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 https://twitter.com/Tesco/status/555440640809762818 @Jamie_bishop__ It's up to you what you do regarding the software. Just don't take it apart as it'll void the warranty. - Alex 2/2 They also don't mention that it voids the bootloader. Does this mean we are within the warranty if we unlock and brick our hudl 2's ? Anyone got a bricked one who is willing to try and take it back ?
Guest opensauce Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 I suspect that Tesco bought OEM support from Pegatron and as they build OEM products. I suspect tesco have little more than automated hardware test and reflash tools. The closing of Paul's root most likely is due to standard product ota updates and also tesco won't want rooted devices near financial apps (banking etc) the average tesco staff member isn't going to be tech savvy, so thats why it gets sent away. If Tesco wanted best of both worlds boot priority from sd card and keep secure eMMC (allows tinkering, but not compromised platform security) Be great if Tesco actually exploited interest in hudl2 mod, I suspect this counters their Sales platform wishes
