I'm guessing this is the equivalent of freezing one. From day one it had annoyed me to see adobe acrobat included and it kept pestering for updates. now it's been moved to SD and disabled so hopefully that is the last I shall see of that particular pest. As long as these options keep turning up then for a lot of cases root might not be the only way to get a much wanted effect. Of course, for other more exotic things, root is still absolutely required.
