Tasker has an option to mute the microphone, not sure if you would need to be rooted for this though

Guest David441 Posted March 10, 2015 Report Posted March 10, 2015 Thanks for the suggestions. My unit is not rooted. Tasker, great but somewhat of an overkill for one use I feel. Going to settings/apps does indeed give the option to disable the camera and force a stop however whilst it appears to respond to the selections and is then listed as "disabled" both the camera and mic continue to function in all apps. So that seems a little weird. After a reboot the camera remains listed as "disabled" but again both it and the mic are fully functional. Any other ideas please?
