Guest .AC. Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Hi guys, I embarrassingly misplaced my hudl2 a while back so I decided to get a new one today; the tablet is just too good to consider buying anything else near the price. This one I've now got seems to have a grid of tiny dots which is visible when the dots catch the light in a certain way. Considering I can still see them when the screen is off I'm assuming I'm looking at the screens digitiser. I can't remember my last hudl2 with this, and the dots are fairly distracting now I've seen them. Is this common on hudl2 screens or should I just take it back for a replacement? I'm hoping to get hold of a decent camera in order to take a photo of the damned things. Briefly mentioned in "The Weird" section of gizmondo's review http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/10/tesco-hudl-2-review/

Briefly mentioned in "The Weird" section of gizmondo's review http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2014/10/tesco-hudl-2-review/ Yes it is common to see the touch screen sensors at a certain viewing angle, but they shouldn't be visible at all angles ( of course ambient light source can also cause them to be seen, suggest moving around,)
Guest .AC. Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 Unfortunately i see some dots at all viewing angles, and there's a couple of bright spots on the screen. I certainly don't want to see them when i'm looking flat at the screen. Guess that means a return and see what happens with its replacement.
Guest CPN200 Posted March 17, 2015 Report Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) I would say that that is definitely a faulty screen. You shouldn't be able to see those at all. My wife and I have just bought two Hudl2s and no matter how hard I try with various lighting sources, there is no sign of those on either at all... Edited March 17, 2015 by CPN200
Guest .AC. Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 Hi guys, just an update. Had my hudl2 replaced in store no questions asked (Besides security when I set off a few alarms walking in). New tablet screen is several times better. I can still see dots if I look close enough but not when I hold the device more than a foot or two away and view it flat on. Also Just posting in case anyone else has the same sort of thing; if these dots are visible enough to annoy you, the screen is faulty. Cheers guys!
