Any experiences of using external expansion batteries with the Hudl2?

As the  title suggests, has anyone had any experience of using an external battery with the Hudl2?

I'm doing a fair bit of travelling in my camper this year and whilst I've determined that I can charge the Hudl2 in the camper through a 12v inverter there are going to be times when I'll be away from a mains and 12v supply.

Has anyone any experience of using an external battery and, if so, do any work with the Hudl2?

TIA

They aren't device-specific so they will all work.

I have an EasyAcc PB2000AP that we bought to charge my wife's galaxy note it has 1.3A & 2.1A outputs and charges all our devices EXCEPT my hudl. The hudl WILL charge very slowly if it is turned off but not if it is on/sleeping. I'd advise caution, try to test any external bat before buying. The hudl seems to demand a lot of power to charge - I have several other chargers rated at 2.1A that either will not charge it or do so very slowly.

For further clarification, like many here my Hudl is fussy when it comes to charging. Using the original plug and cable it charges quickly without having to power off whether at home or through a 12v inverter in a vehicle but any other usb cable or directly through a vehicle's 12v supply and charging takes ages and only if it is powered off.

Knowing the difficulties of charging with third party items I'm erring on the side of caution before buying a battery and wondered if anyone has had luck with a specific battery working with the Hudl2.

Tested this last night charges fine from a 110ah leisure battery, with croc clips to female cigarette socket, plus usb charger

Thanks Flipper_Al. I've also got a 110ah leisure battery so will look at connecting a socket (with inline fuse) direct from the battery which should reduce current drain from using the 12v inverter.

I've still got to crack the issue of portable power when away from the van.

Don't know, wasn't really monitoring it yesterday, just let it charge

Will do some tests, when i get home, see how long it takes to charge 10%
