Guest gadget437 Posted April 13, 2015 Report Posted April 13, 2015 ... in landscape at least. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I might get it back? In portrait I have the button in this order, Multi/Home/Back (reversed from normal), but in landscape I have nothing, not even the dots. The dark bar across the bottom is there, but nothing shows, I can navigate home by pressing the centre of it tho'.
Guest seanspotatobusiness Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Did this happen simply after rooting or did you do some other stuff after rooting?
Guest gadget437 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) The only stuff I installed after root was Titanium Backup and Xposed Installer, but I think the issue was there before I loaded them up. I had Nova Launcher installed before root, I tried losing that and going back to Tesco Home, but that had no effect. I'm assuming a Factory data reset is still a viable option after root? I'm right in assuming it only removes user data not any OTA updates? Edited April 14, 2015 by gadget437
Guest crusader58 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 As you already have xposed installer, you could try downloading and installing the module 'Lollipop Navigation Bar', activating it may trigger a setting that's affecting you present navbar. Personally I prefer the Lollipop Navbar to the stock one...you may too.
Guest gadget437 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 (edited) Another interesting wrinkle is that the status bar has reversed, the time, battery and wifi icons are on the left, the notifications on the right. And when you drag then down, they are reversed also... not reversed, unreadable, but in the opposite order, settings button on left, user icon on right etc. And the sliders are reversed, volume is off to the right, max to the left; so is the brightness slider. And where did Build Prop Editor come from? I didn't install it. Is it part of Paul's rooting? Edited April 14, 2015 by gadget437
Guest Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 You could always boot up in android "safe mode" and see if it's rectified - if it does then it's definitely a software app that's been loaded. Which negates having to do a factory reset.
Guest gadget437 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 Fixed... not sure how! Here's my workflow; Beer Sleep Uninstall all apps (cathartic) Turn off Developer options Soft reset et voila!... back to norman... YAY!
Guest crusader58 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 lol I do notice a setting in developer options that may be part of the culprit force RTL in all locations
Guest state-it Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 ... et voila!... back to norman... YAY! Sort of like Jekyll and Hyde. Maybe you'd better keep on the beer Norman, rather than off it ;)
Guest gadget437 Posted April 14, 2015 Report Posted April 14, 2015 force RTL in all locations By Jove sir, I think you have it... That's the rascal! And I let that typo slide 'cos it tickled me too, and, although not usually a fan of anthropomorphizing tech, I am now considering naming my Hudl, Norman.
