Guest 4L0M Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 I flashed Resurrection Remix ROM onto my Sony Xperia Z Ultra last night which is an android 5.1 ROM. Just messing around with it and I have noticed that Kernel ( android os ) uses between 3 and 4.5% of all battery drain on the Z Ultra during a discharging cycle. I compared this to my Hudl 2 and that is reportedly around 24% of all battery drain even though I'm pretty much doing the same activities on both devices! Out of curiosity, would anybody else be able to tell me how much their Kernel is draining battery on their Hudl 2? Bear in mind that the Z Ultra has a 2.3 GHz quad core in it and a 6.44" 1080p screen, so the the Hudl 2 kernel seems to be really badly optimised. Cheers,
Guest ViPaSoft Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 I have a rooted Hudl2 and 'BetterBatteryStats'. What do you want to know and how would I find it. I've had a quick look in 'BBS' but couldn't see and issues. Mine can last for several days on standbye and during use, lasts quite a long time, (several hours of general use).
Guest crusader58 Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 my Android OS uses between 2% and 10% depending on what I've been running
Guest 4L0M Posted April 16, 2015 Report Posted April 16, 2015 Thanks for the replies guys. After a reboot, my kernel usage went back down to normal usage percentage again anyway. I will attempt to see if I can find out what process caused the usage spike.
