Guest crusader58 Posted April 24, 2015 Report Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) Thought I'd start a thread where peeps can post their game recommendations, mainly for HD games that run well on the Hudl2. I'll make the first recommendation for a game that's just been updated for x86 compatibility, it's a very playable game with the right balance of action and tactics. Available on the Play Store it's called Space Marshalls, cost is £3.99...a tad pricey but there's no in-app crap and process is aided by upgrades that you find within each level. The touch controls take a little getting used to but work well and it has support for game controllers, music and sound are well done too, as are the graphics. Over 150 views and not one reply, does no-one play games? Edited April 26, 2015 by crusader58
Guest 4L0M Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Yes, I play a LOT of games, but I would rather play a game like Final Fantasy Crisis Core, Metal Gear Solid : Peacewalker or Persona 3 using an emulator like PPSSPP on Hudl 2 or stream my gaming PC/PS4 to it, rather than play the 99% of in-app purchase ridden crap designed for tablets. Saying that though, the completely awesome Terraria is only 78p on Play Store today. Total Bargain !!! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.and.games505.TerrariaPaid&hl=en_GB&referrer=utm_source%3Dgoogle%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_term%3Dterraria&pcampaignid=APPU_1_adg9VZPxGcHpaMrVgPgG It works perfectly on Hudl 2. ( Screenshot taken from Hudl 2 ) Absolutely fantastic game, and very deep once you get into it. I advise newcomers to watch a few beginners guides on YouTube to help you get into the game. It's available for free on the play store and is regularly updated. Has quite a learning curve, but good tutorials are available on YouTube and on the openTTD forum. Regarding streaming games from PC I really don't see the point, as my PC is setup as my gaming platform, the hudl2 is merely used as a mobile gaming platform for when I'm away from the PC. Guest Mark_He Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 I don't dare get OpenTTD, I wasted so much time on that game when it first came out... I've yet to find a game the Hudl can't play well - it handles Need For Speed most wanted without issue, for example. For an infuriatingly addictive casual game, I suggest Super Hexagon. Or Olo for simple two player fun. It's worth keeping an eye on Humble Bundle, they often have an android games package on. You can also keep an eye on the Amazon app of the day. 99% of the time it's crap, but there's the occasional gem.
Guest 4L0M Posted April 28, 2015 Report Posted April 28, 2015 (edited) Hopefully it doesn't sound like I'm turning this thread into a deals site, but the incredible LIMBO is just 85p on Play Store today. I played it through on PS3 and it's an absolutely beautiful atmospheric game : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.playdead.limbo.full .......it's also pretty creepy and slightly disturbing in places........ Guest Matthew Watson Posted April 29, 2015 Report Posted April 29, 2015 Hearthstone. It's free, and runs really well on Hudl 2. It's also an awesome game.
Guest rennerz Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 How did you get terraria to work?? Always comes up that it isn't compatible via Google play. I did install from amazon store but had so many issues with it I got rid

Limbo doesnt seem to work correctly on the hudl 2. The sound is unbearable with loud static/fuzz all the time. Gameplay is fine though. Terraria doesnt work either on the hudl 2.
Guest Parababble Posted May 8, 2015 Report Posted May 8, 2015 Has anyone managed to get Angry Birds Go working on the Hudl 2 yet? My son loves this game but frustrated why it throws out an "Angry Birds has stopped" message. I remember reading a review on google play that somebody used to get it working before this error came up (maybe an older hudl 2 software) so just wondering if the hudl 2 software update has fixed this? Even though I don't want to update as it's rooted and frozen to prevent it updating anyway. Just concerned.

I got it from Amazon appstore.
Guest crusader58 Posted May 15, 2015 Report Posted May 15, 2015 Terraria works on my hudl2 also purchased from Amazon App Store, but I did notice that a recent update screwed it up for many people so maybe the people who have been having issues with it happened to be unfortunate enough to get the problematic update version. I dare say the devs will address it, so look for a more recent updated version. On a side note, I can't get into the game...it bores me. lol

Guest crusader58 Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 For the oldies among you who grew up with games like Elite and like myself have longed for an Android version so you can re-live your childhood, look no further ...check out Alite on the playstore, its a completely free and faithful conversion of the Amiga rendition of Elite. The author gives good support on his forum and is continually releasing updates and improvements that others have suggested. Go grab yourself a copy of Alite and transport yourself back in time to the gold old days of the Amiga
