Guest pryddie Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Hi All Will a reset set my Hudl2 unrooted Thanks
Guest EananC Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 A factory reset is not needed. Just run the SuperSU app (download it if you dont have it), go to settings and look for "Full unroot" option. click and follow the instructions.
Guest pryddie Posted June 3, 2015 Report Posted June 3, 2015 Hi mate I've done that as you say. It shuts the app down and then I manual reboot I can't uninstall the Su app so still saying it's rooted.

Guest pryddie Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Didn't unroot using SU I have no idea why. I did a reset everything in settings however after restart and new fresh configuration personal start up it still says rooted. Is a factory reset option after powering the hudl off and using volume + and on/off switch the boot option factory reset the same as using reset erase everything in the settings menu? Thanks
Guest robin0800 Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 (edited) The only way to remove root is to downgrade the hudl using pauls january root image reboot and allowing the hudl to update OTA the march update root will now be lost. Edited June 5, 2015 by robin0800
Guest pryddie Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 Is this the same as using ghe T3 method to do this. If I'm honest it's only because my sports apps won't work
Guest Robin Wheeler Posted June 5, 2015 Report Posted June 5, 2015 No read the first thread in the sticky booting thread.
Guest pryddie Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 Is the sticky on the front or in tesco hudl2 section as I see no sticky about booting mate sorry
Guest Robin Wheeler Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 Sorry for that I meant rooting thread
Guest pryddie Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 Hi mate no probs. I've had a go and can't do it so will have to leave it as I've had enough lol
Guest vampirefo Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) Hi mate no probs. I've had a go and can't do it so will have to leave it as I've had enough lolYou can write a unroot script and flash it via cwm recovery, factory reset only deletes user files not system files. Root is system files. Or simply reroot , reboot, use file manager that provides root, delete the root files from /system/bin and delete the app from /system/app then reboot. Guest Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) Download it from the play store just like any other app. The file manager does not provide root - it uses your already root status to allow you to access system files. Edited June 6, 2015 by Guest
Guest pryddie Posted June 6, 2015 Report Posted June 6, 2015 What exactly am I deleting in system and app folders please
Guest vampirefo Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) What exactly am I deleting in system and app folders pleaseRemove /system/app/Superuser.apk /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/daemonsu /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/bin/su Some files may not exist, different tablets uses different files, delete what you find from above list. Guest pryddie Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 Hi Vampiro I've tried that using the file manager from google play and whatever one I try it says can no be deleted Thanks mate
Guest Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) In whichever file manager you are using look for an option to enable 'root explorer' or similar. When you start the file manager with the correct settings to access the root file system, you should also see a notice asking for permissions from the supersu app. A good program to use is 'ES File Explorer' by ES App Group. Guest Robin Wheeler Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 Remove /system/app/Superuser.apk /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/daemonsu /system/etc/install-recovery.sh /system/bin/su Some files may not exist, different tablets uses different files, delete what you find from above list. Yes this works and is certainly easier than my method no system/bin/su found on my hudl
Guest pryddie Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 Not getting anywhere here lol worst thing I've ever done was root Any advice on below is much appreciated Remove /system/app/Superuser.apk (can not delete file) /system/xbin/su (can not delete file) /system/xbin/daemonsu (can not delete file) /system/etc/install-recovery.sh (can not delete file) /system/bin/su (not there )
Guest samac Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) install a terminal emulator program make sure the prompt line ends with a # if not enter the command su then hit return your command prompt should now end in a # then enter the command rm /system/app/Superuser.apk then use the rm command for the others paths that you had in the previous thread. samac Edited June 7, 2015 by samac

Guest vampirefo Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 (edited) Flash via recovery the same way you rooted, how did you root? If you didn't use my recovery? Also you are trying to remove apps no one told you too, so no clue what you are doing, you tried to remove /system/app/SuperSU.apk what is /system/app/SuperSU.apk? I can't help people who can't follow directions. Edited June 7, 2015 by vampirefo
