Guest macbreakweeklyfan Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Hi folks. No one seems to have written a step-by-step, clear guide on how to root the SU6. So... who's going to be first? I read scraps of conversations here and there, but with much ambiguity. So, again... is there any chance of a well written, step by step guide that has been tested without errors and app crashes, please? Thanks everyone :) Edited August 5, 2015 by macbreakweeklyfan
Guest Frankish Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 Pretty much is as paul said its a single apk to install and run. The complications come when switching to a more err trusted root binary and app.
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 To switch to SuperSU...Install SuperSUMe from the Play StoreRun SuperSU MeRebootUpdate binary when promptedP
Guest macbreakweeklyfan Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Thank you. Any errors or crashes to report? Paul, the link to SuperSUMe doesn't work. Do you REMOVE KingRoot? When do you remove it, if so? Edited August 5, 2015 by macbreakweeklyfan

Guest neilmasters Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 The link works for me. Think the Play Store is a bit flaky this afternoon.SuperSUMe does it.See 1.PHow do you go back to stock if you install SuperSuMe and Kingroot is uninstalled?
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 Always the best way to go back to stock is the stock ROM download.Pop it on a SD card, boot into recovery, select 'apply update from SDcard' and choose the file and bob's your mum's brother. P

P Does that wipe your previous install though?
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 Does that wipe your previous install though?Yes, that goes completely back to factory box fresh. If you just want to get rid of SuperSU, use the 'unroot' option in the app.P
Guest macbreakweeklyfan Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 So, to clarify, the "KingORoot" app (what a silly name!) does the rooting, then the "Sue me for damages" app removes the "KingORoot" app part, leaving the binaries, and gives you a "normal" SuperSU app?
Guest neilmasters Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Looks like the developer of SuperSuMe has removed the free version - as of yesterday, only the Pro version is available, priced at 77p. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersumeproCan somebody re-host the free version apk?
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 That might have been a move by Google...P
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 Ah, looks deliberate - XDA topic now links to the paid version.P

Guest macbreakweeklyfan Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 (edited) I've still got the APK; here it is: ---> https://www.sendspace.com/file/mt3qc2 <--- Edited August 7, 2015 by macbreakweeklyfan
Guest eLJay Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Kingroot latest version didn't give me root access. It said it did not renaming the boot animation proved it didn't.
Guest NegativeOne Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Kingroot latest version didn't give me root access. It said it did not renaming the boot animation proved it didn't.If you're renaming it is es file explorer you have to switch root explorer on in the menu up in the top left.
Guest eLJay Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 (edited) Cheers my rooting skills are a little rusty.Last phone I rooted was a g300.Got king root saying it can't root it now. Edited August 9, 2015 by eLJay
Guest czEdison66 Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 I did a root using Kingroot. Then I installed SuperSume. Everything went okay I began SuperSU, but I can not update the binary. Always give me an update failed. I can only give the OK and restart. Any advice?
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Sounds like root may not be working at all, install Root Explorer and browse to /data or use a root checker to verify?P
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 I've also noticed one thing.. I can't uninstall KingRoot after run SuperSume, i only can deactivate it, it's normal? SuperSu works fine.
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 SuperSUMe should remove it itself. Something not right there. P
