Guest tjamz Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 So I rooted it no problem, and then I followed this post to remove the navbar, and now I'm in a boot loop.I have no backup. Can this be sorted?I'm really mad at myself!!!
Guest Alien Heads Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) It states in that post:If you want to restore the original framework-res.apk (e.g. in case you ended up in a boot loop or want your old navigation bar back), you can repeat step 5, but instead of 'framework-res.mod.apk', use 'framework-res.bkp.apk'. Guest tjamz Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 (edited) Yes but I can't send it as the recovery doesn't seem to have usb debuggin enabled. I tried sideloading the apk, but it failed. Edited August 5, 2015 by tjamz
Guest dennissingh99 Posted August 5, 2015 Report Posted August 5, 2015 You could build a update.zip package and flash it with the tethered custom recovery
Guest samac Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 I had a similar problem. I removed all the apk files in /data/app to try and create some room. Hudl2 went into a boot loop. I tried to restore the files with adb shell but due to permission problems I couldn't, even though I am rooted. My recovery method, horrible but works. Factory reset, wait for it to go through initial setup including update to latest version. Root using the alternative method. Tweak to disable as much google and tesco-ness as possible, then install the apps that I use.Must be a quicker way!Why no root access through adb shell?Samac
Guest Myshkin Gleb Posted August 7, 2015 Report Posted August 7, 2015 HUDL2KOT49H.rel.android-build.20150529.110309 release-keyshelp to find the firmware
Guest Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 tjamz even though that post was for the original hudl and NOT hudl2 have you been able to try step 5 with the backup file?
