Oh dear, stuck on "Powered by Android"

Could any kind soul help me out please - is there an easy way out a stuck boot screen? I was trying to reflash the original Su6 rom from an update.zip and it looked like it failed halfway through. Then got distracted and came back to it being stuck on the "Powered by Android" screen. Won't turn off by holding the power button down, or with power+up, pr power+down, no response when I plug it into PC and try and talk to it with adb. Getting a bit worried now. Thanks

(am really pleased there's a modaco thread on this great phone, have been tempted back on the slippery slope though!)

Does holding power for a while really not at least get it to reboot and get back to the powered by android screen? Just not sure how you would even boot back into recovery if you can't at least get it to loop back around.

Hold down on power button for about 30 seconds, once screen goes black, release your finger and then straight away press power and up.

Just to agree with the above, either try holding power or power plus one of the volume keys.

I just needed more patience, thought that 10-20 secs tops would do it from prev reports. But yes, after 30+ secs it restarted and I'm back in recovery. Thanks all.

Hopefully can now reflash update or wipe data and hopefully it boots. It's easy to panic in times like that :)

Yeah, thanks all, I had a corrupted update.zip, which accounts for the original unpleasantness, but am back in to stock and restoring now.

Was less of a panic, and more "have tried the dozen learned ways out from previous phones, now reduced to trying the same thing unsuccessfully a dozen times" and gradual descent into resignation, But have also been through that more times than I care to remember with tech upgrades.

And all this was after I reflashed the original rom to get the upgrade - as I'd removed messenger+ - and everything worked but then Chrome only returned a blank screen, so I thought I'd reflash again... at some point I should learn to do one thing at at time (rather than flash, kingroot, supersume, supersu, adaway and then find out Chrome doesn't work)

And next week on "In the psychiatrist's chair"...

Something is coming that will make all this stuff a lot easier...

I had the same problem, gave up on SU in the end. No matter how many times I reflashed etc. It kept happening. Odd how it doesn't happen for everyone.

Strange but it doesn't matter anymore as much we will have alternative means to get rid of king and install supersu :D

Ah yes, I'll give that a try now.

Hi

Im on the stock rom latest update and have never modded the phone but i'm stuck in a boot loop "powered by android"

I followed some of the advice above (holding the power down and when it goes black, release and quickly press power and up button) - which seemed to bring me to recovery menu.

Can anyone kindly instruct me on what i need to do to get up and running again, and link me to the right downloads?

point to note - the phone doesnt remain in recovery for more than 20 seconds, it returns to its boot loop! I've not tried selecting any options since i don't know what files to flash on to it

Sorry stepping on this post but I have a Verizon QMV7B tablet that is also stops at the "powered by android" screen sits there for 10 seconds or so then looks like it shuts off and powers back on by itself. none of the buttons appear to functioning. holding the power button down for minutes doesn't do anything it just keeps at this loop. tablet slowly started to battery die until it wouldn't charge so bought new battery and stuck in it and that's when it started this loop. I have tried all the button sequences to try to get it to go into any kind of recovery mode but nothing responds. just the stock rom and nothing was messed with. ideas?
