I've used it to lower minimum CPU speed. Not sure if its helping so far though. Titanium backup is a brilliant tool for making full backup. It's not as important these days as it used to be android has come a long way. But its nice. For example three blocks my tethering so I can't use my phone as a hot spot. A simple edit of the build.prop on the system partition and now I can tether ;)
