Mine were OKBut tested and faulty on another deviceSome kind of cable/plug join wear.So just poor apple build quality. 2nd failure of earpods in 15 months

My mum has had her earpods for 2 years, and they get dragged all over the place and are still pristine. Then again, you may have had two weak pairs in a row, it's not unheard of.
