Guest Frankish Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I've had the error when re rooting that has caused Chrome to stop working. Blank white pages etc. Now trying in vain to figure out what is wrong with Chrome I've noticed King root wasn't removed from system app. I removed it with root explorer and rebooted. Uninstalled chrome updates etc and it says that an app has crashed... Com.kingroot. I was sure I had removed every trace of it. But its back again in system partition. So I've got a broken chrome and a suspicious root app I can't get rid of. So unless I can get a repacked stock ROM to fully wipe and flash in recovery I think I may just flash back to stock for now. Hmm...
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I had the same problem, but i use UCBrowser, its better and have Adblock inside the browser.I fixed the problem rebooting the phone, rooted again then used SuperSume. Sometimes it doesnt work, but try a few times until it does.
Guest BigD18t Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Sounds a bit sus, ib haven't removed king root yet because each time I've tried it fails and I get errors.Sounds like for now it's best to stay stock for a while, were just need a way to get back to it.
Guest Frankish Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Its easy enough to go back to stock I just want a way to root that involves removing every bit of king root or no king root at all.
Guest kiffmoore Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 Guys, I'm struggling to get back to stock. I've flashed the recovery image via flashifly and then the big stock ROM zip from the link paul posted via the recovery update from SD card but it fails each time. Think I may have lost some files from the kingroot to supersume move and have the lost chrome etc that a few are experiencing, any thoughts welcome
Guest Frankish Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 That worked for me flashing stock recovery then just using stock recovery to flash the main ROM zip. Hmm?
Guest paraffinbrain Posted August 8, 2015 Report Posted August 8, 2015 I lost Chrome after the Kingroot / SuperSuMe process. Everything ok for me after I ran the basic stock rom as update via recovery.
Guest kiffmoore Posted August 9, 2015 Report Posted August 9, 2015 Thanks. Tried again and getting a footer loader, signature failed issue. No idea what I've done! At least all else is working fine and hopefully sometime soon I maybe able to flash stock or a custom ROM via TWRP instead!

I had to use Terminal Emulator twice before SuperSU took. Then I disabled Kingroot and then uninstalled it using "System app remover (ROOT)" from the play store. Rebooted the phone and kingroot is gone and chrome works.
Guest Lukas4477 Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 My chrome still doesn't work and I've tried almost everything.
Guest PaulOBrien Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 How about this as a solution... I repack the stock ROM but for TWRP and without the data partition. Then we can kingoroot, flash TWRP, reboot to recovery, reflash stock (without wiping) and flash the supersu zip.All traces of kingoroot removed...?P
Guest Frankish Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 That would be perfect I was going to ask if anyone was willing to do this but thought it perhaps a bit long winded.
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 (edited) I've done a backup with Google, formated phone, restored the phone from google backup, rooted with kingroot on sdcard ( it shows a pop-up of where to install, choose sdcard ) installed SuperSUme, run SuperSUme and all KingRoot folders and icon gone. Guest Lukas4477 Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Yes, it does.have you done the same method as above?
Guest Frankish Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 I've repeated the same method at least 5 times now. Only once i got the chrome issue. Can't pinpoint what actually goes wrong...

Can't pinpoint what actually goes wrong...its a strange one! Just a quick one, what would you suggest is the best method to start fresh and try again? If posible I'd like to leave twrp istalled. Thanks.
Guest Redparrot Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 have you done the same method as above?have you done the same method as above?I rooted with kingoroot and then used supersume, this broke chrome. Then I rooted with kingoroot and then used the wolfdroid method to replace the kingoroot apps with supersu. Chome wasn't broke using this method.
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Chrome doesn't work.. Chrome sucks. I use UC Browser, faster and with ad block.

Guest LiNe171 Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 For me it's the best. Simple, fast, secure and with adblock, all i need. Not irritating for me at all, just deactivated Chrome. I hate Chrome on PC, so i wouldn't use it on Phone.Firefox always haha :)
