Guest jonathan bowley Posted August 13, 2015 Report Posted August 13, 2015 Not sure how many hi-fi nuts are here on MoDaCo, but thought I'd raise the issue of Viper Audio mod... Anybody attempted to get it working? I had a quick go with a build that I'd been using on my OPO but it caused the SU6 to boot in Safe Mode, so I had to wipe the app data and uninstall. Anyone got any ideas? Maybe it conflicts with the built in Dolby stuff? Not too into the details, just like the options Viper gives, esp when listening through my DAC.
Guest RedLee Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 I installed the Google play version( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vipercn.viper4android_v2_fx ) with no issues. It's all running fine.
Guest jonathan bowley Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Thanks for the reply bud, I should have updated the post... I was using an older version. Used the latest from the website and it's all running fantastically. What DAC you using? I'm on a Fiio E18 at the moment, pretty happy with it paired with my Grado SR125's. I'm always on the budget end of things, not made of money!
Guest RedLee Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 Hi mate! I use viper4android only to improve the built in speaker quality, it was the only thing I didn't like about this phone.
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 21, 2015 Report Posted August 21, 2015 I've put recommended settings by the autor and didnt notice changes.. That app drains alot of battery :/
Guest ukwizard Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 It doesnt seem to do anything for me, am I missing a key setting or does it just work with headphones (ive tried with a speaker).Putting the phone in in a plantpot seems to help the quality and volume best for me so far!
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 I think it doesnt work. If you click on driver status it shows 'no compatible' or 'not ativated' something like that. So.. That app just drains alot of battery.
Guest RedLee Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 So maybe I was just lucky because my app is working great, the driver is enabled and processing. I didn't notice any battery drain.
Guest jonathan bowley Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 The version I have from the website is working fine - no noticeable drain, driver enabled, sweet DDC setup on my Grado - sounds fantastic. Just wish I could get USB audio working system wide again, not just with USB audio player pro.
Guest ukwizard Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 I dont suppose you remmeber if you had to do anything unusual during setup. Ive tried and it asks me to install the driver and then reboot, but nothing.Do you have to enable compatabiity mode etc, and which audio mode did you select, the high one or the middle etc?Its just not working for me, odd.
Guest Vodultra6 Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 I created this topic, i am also looking for help
