Guest LiNe171 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 (edited) At moment my phone is unrooted, super fluid and faster, boot super fast...I want to root it, but i don't want lags.. I just install Link2SD, Flashify, Terminal Emulator, Greenify and Root Explorer.. I also install TWRP and i change the bootanimation.. But i notice that after rooting and installing that apps, my phone lags a bit.. My bootanimation breaks a bit, no fluid bootanimation.. I don't understand..I saw on xda that when we format phone we shouldn't restore apps & data from a backup of Google.. I've always done that.. This time i didn't and it seems more faster than before.. Even with unrooted phone.. PS: Sorry if i have some mistakes on text.. I'm Portuguese.. xD Edited August 22, 2015 by LiNe171
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 Rooted and installed TWRP + 3 apps, lag and breaks are back.. Just gonna stay unrooted until we have custom ROM.
Guest Zeus_Alex Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 Rooted my 2nd SU6 with MobileGo, removed boot animation(vodafone), installed Greenify, Terminal Emulator, Root Explorer, Titanium backup, SetCPU and a few other ones and no lag at all. It's the same as if it were unrooted. Has 4Gb of free space and the phone is used just for testing purposes (bootloader and kernel tests) and as a vehicle dashcam Don't install TWRP recovery, thats my advice. You don't need it anyway, atleast until we get custom roms.
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 I think it's the TWRP that's causing the lag.. Just gonna stay unrooted and stock recovery until custom ROMs, don't need root at all :P
Guest Zeus_Alex Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 Well, as i said above, you can root and not install TWRP because it's not needed. Try it and if you get no "lag", then it's solved and it's TWRP fault, wich i doubt for many reasons. In fact, if you can do all you want in the phone without root and without any problems or restrictions, maybe you don't need root at all.I use it because i need it. Lots of people root their phones without needing it and so, putting at risk the security ot the equipment, they end up with all sort of problems. My advice...if you don't need it or don't know what to do with a rooted phone, don't do it
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 I know what to do with it but it's a bit useless to me, just use it to browser, take a pictures, sms, calls, facebook etc. I always had root but i realise i don't really need it for now. Just gonna wait until we get custom roms (i hope we get, 5.0.2 is horrible) and thanks for the advices
Guest Umrtvovacz Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 There is no difference in speed on mine Su6 before and after root. I even did antutu and the score was pretty much the same, 26117 or something like that. I need root to connect my Dualshock PS3 gamepad and play Playstation 1 games (I own all the games I play and the console, 100% legal) so I would use root even if it did cause slowdowns.

Just gonna change bootanimation, Vodafone boot is ugly..
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 22, 2015 Report Posted August 22, 2015 Well, i rooted and changed bootanimation and the new bootanimation started to have breaks again.. Changed to original boot and still had breaks..Unrooted, wiped cache partition on stock recovery and fluid now. It's only a little break but i hate breaks or lags. That's why i have my animations deactivated on phone, super fast without them.

Guest LiNe171 Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Try again.. If fails all the time, just install the stock rom again, install update by OTA and try to root.
Guest Zeus_Alex Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 I just tried rooting my SU6 with MobileGo but it failed. Did you have to take any extra steps?Had to do it again..that worked well for me.First time it said it was done, restarted the phone and no root. Tried it again e it was sucessful. Updated SuperSU binaries and all is good until now.
Guest KonstaT Posted August 29, 2015 Report Posted August 29, 2015 (edited) I think it's the TWRP that's causing the lag.. Just gonna stay unrooted and stock recovery until custom ROMs, don't need root at all :PLOL, that's the stupidest thing I've heard/read in a long time. You clearly have no idea what recovery mode even is. It's not even technically possible that it would cause any 'lag'. Android gives zero fscks what you have in your recovery partition.Your problem is more likely caused by Link2SD and or some other stupid thing (xposed) that you've done yourself. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to use Link2SD these days (it's not 2010 anymore) and this device has more than plenty of (fast) internal storage. If you move essential app data to your fake Chinese Kingston sdcard, no surprise if your device starts to lag... Edited August 29, 2015 by KonstaT

When im with rooted phone i only use greenify and flashify..With or without your recovery phones breaks a bit at bootanimation i dont know why..And its an SanDisk sd.

You either boot to Android or you boot to recovery. This has nothing to do with TWRP and it seems you're the only one with this 'problem' anyway. Edited August 29, 2015 by KonstaT
Guest BigD18t Posted August 29, 2015 Report Posted August 29, 2015 @Konsta T A few of us noticed Lag after root and installing TWRP, not saying it is that but after flashing stock recovery and stock ROM the phone run's fine again.
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 29, 2015 Report Posted August 29, 2015 Yeah.. Even with supersu and twrp only, phone lags..
Guest KonstaT Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 A few of us noticed Lag after root and installing TWRP, not saying it is that but after flashing stock recovery and stock ROM the phone run's fine again. Where's that? There's zero reports of such issues in the TWRP thread and it's now been downloaded several hundred times. It would be the first time in history of all Android devices that custom recovery would cause such issues. It's not even technically possibly which makes this quite ridiculous.Maybe it's your shady rooting tool that causes the lag when it sends all your personal information to China. :P
Guest BigD18t Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 It could well be that, as I said no one is pointing fingers, just reading about on here and xda people have had lag after rooting, some is caused by xposed, some is not, chrome breaks, and lag appears, I'm happy stock for now, and will see if things improve in time.
Guest Frankish Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 Today i have installed stock rom. Updated to latest OTA. Rooted with MobileGO and flashed TWRP.I have reinstalled all my apps... No hint of lag or slow downs at all i really don't get what's happening to you lot.
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 Not lag on phone, it's the breaks on bootanimation, not 60 fps.. Breaks a bit. I don't like that, i prefer 60 fps fluid.
Guest Frankish Posted August 30, 2015 Report Posted August 30, 2015 Got to admit I don't sit and watch the boot animation very often.
Guest Yepi69 Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 I have a Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 myself and I've rooted it and installed TWRP, its impossible for TWRP to lag your device when its installed on a different partition that the Android system DOES NOT work with, therefore it doesn't interfere with anything Android does with its partitions. As far as rooting goes, root so far doesn't lag my device, Xposed does. Even using the tutorial around here and commenting the build.prop lines it still lags so I basically gave up on that.
