Guest Nebril Posted September 2, 2015 Report Posted September 2, 2015 Okay so I reverted to stock ROM and recovery but when trying to install ota it keeps failing at the bootloader saying core-libart.jar has unexpected contents.Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.P.S. I'm running the UK version is this helps
Guest elperroderoke Posted September 2, 2015 Report Posted September 2, 2015 How do you reverted to Stock?.You have to install the stock recovery and then flash the original Rom (update.zip) from ZTE.Regards.
Guest Nebril Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 I tried to install stock without wiping to no avail.Wiped now and it all works fine.On a side note is there any way to modify build.prop?Any time I try it always reverts after rebooting
Guest elperroderoke Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Yes, you need to be root and before editing the file be sure that /system is mounted read/write in root explorer or whatever filebrowser you use.Regards.
Guest Nebril Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) I tried mounting /system as rw but it gets reverted after rebootI am rooted by the way Edited September 7, 2015 by Nebril
Guest LiNe171 Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Just put the update.zip of your country Stock ROM on sdcard, flash it by offline way on "about phone" on definitions and update the phone normally..Dont root it or install recoverys before install the update via OTA.
Guest elperroderoke Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Are you sure the file is edited and saved? Open the file and check the changes before reboot.Regards.
Guest Zeus_Alex Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 (edited) There's something fishy about this phone and i still don't get it. I don't know what it is and didn't find any diference from the previous SU6 that i had and could be rooted at first try. This one i got now it's completely the same and i tried to root it with every possible way but without any chance. In the final i installed TWRP and rooted by recovery without any problem but still, i share some problems with Nebril and a few others.Right now it is rooted...but, and a big one...i tried to reboot several times to check if the root persisted. of course, being rooted by recovery, it had to persist. The problem is that i can change whatever i want and save and a few minutes later the files i modified return to the previous state AKA stock rom files.E even tried to delete bootanimation.zip and it did...a few minutes later or a reboot later the file reapears as if by magic. Tried to rename the file and it saved the rename without problems. A few minutes later it returns to the .zip form. Same thing with AdAway. It downloads the host files, applies them without problem and i can check that the files are there with the hosts file with a size of 1.94Mb (at /system/etc/hosts). A few minutes later the file returns to the previous state with a low size again.I can even delete the build.prop without any problem because the file reapears again. It looks to me that there is a hidden partition retaining the original files somewhere and reapplies them whenever theres a change. I'm going nuts with this one, really. And yes, the file system is R/W. I checked, double checked and even triple checked.Another thing is that now i get a few reboots sometime and i think that this kind of "protection" is causing it because it seems that the phone is checking some files all of the time and when it fails, it reboots to fix them.Almost forgetting about this phone, actually. I tried to contact ZTE and see if they could share kernel (and other files) so that the community can build a proper stock rom without this problems but all they say to me is: "We are doing our best to resolve all the problems with this device, even trying to build a x64 build. There is nothing we can do more at the moment."We need a "mass group" petition to make pressure on them or soon we will have a nice equipment stored on a drawer because of the "fails" of ZTE. Guest Nebril Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Couldn't have put it better myself.I had the exact same issue with rooting and also with modifying files.
