Guest porto1 Posted September 6, 2015 Report Posted September 6, 2015 Here is the interesting situation I'm in.I bought this phone to give to my parents as gift. They are not going to be using a Vodafone SIM, so I unlocked it.I also upgraded it to VDF-995NB01-UK_MR01dSince my parent's native language is Portuguese, I then went to language settings.. Guess what. Only a few languages are supported, not Portuguese. What are my options at this point? Not sure why not all languages appear there. Any ideas? There are a couple of apps in Play store that are supposed to enable languages, but I doubt they'll work. What if I flash the stock portuguese rom? Would that be an option? Is it even possible or will it mess things up?
Guest Zeus_Alex Posted September 6, 2015 Report Posted September 6, 2015 Download Morelocale 2 on play store and choose PT as language. Done!
Guest Frankish Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 I replied on xda. Download and install stock Portuguese rom.
Guest KonstaT Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 As discussed in other thread, remove /system/etc/language.xml to 'unlock' all (~60) locales that are included in the ROM. Or just add portuguese (pt_PT, pt_BR) to that list if that's the only one you need.http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/375760-vdf-995nb01-uk_mr01d-twrp-flashable-stock-rom-full-lite/?do=findComment&comment=2264068

Guest KonstaT Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) KonstaT can you confirm please if removing /system/etc/language.xml unlocks polish language in Vodafone smart ultra 6?I can't because I don't have a device. I've checked the framework of SU6 stock ROM and there's translations for ~60 locales (including Polish) as I said above. You can either add Polish (pl_PL) to /system/etc/language.xml or remove the file all together which should unlock all locales. Make a nandroid backup in TWRP before messing with your system. There's no harm in trying. Edited November 16, 2015 by KonstaT
Guest bigelvis Posted November 16, 2015 Report Posted November 16, 2015 thank you KonstaT, I'll try that:) Cheers

Guest dulpit Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Wish they had a language for English (Ireland). It's super minor, but if you use the Engligh (UK) language, then swiftkey has the £ symbol on the X key, whereas if it's English (Ireland) it's the € symbol. I need the € much more than the £...
Guest dulpit Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Oh actually, this worked for me (was able to set language as English (Ireland). Thanks! On 9/6/2015 at 11:56 PM, Zeus_Alex said: Download Morelocale 2 on play store and choose PT as language. Done!
