Guest NegativeOne Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Vodafone Ireland have announced that 5.1 is in testing and will be out in the next two weeks. Horray!http://www.boards.ie/ttfthread/2057467977
Guest macbreakweeklyfan Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Is this an official press release? No. Any member of Vodafone staff could back-track and say "Sorry, I / they got it wrong... <blah>" Don't hang on every word anyone with a Vodafone badge happens to utter. When you hold the physical phone in your own hands, and see with your own eyes "New update available: Android 5.1" or when you see an OFFICIAL press release, that's the time to accept it as fact.Seriously, just relax and wait. This is how rumours start, and wise people go on official statements, not hearsay and vaguely implied promises from someone with a company badge on a forum.
Guest LiNe171 Posted September 7, 2015 Report Posted September 7, 2015 Yeah.. I don't believe on this at 100%... That forum its strange.. Should be an official one and not an boards.ie, my opinion..Edit: it seems that Vodafone UK said something about 5.1 on their forums too.. Saw this on facebook.. Hope we get 5.1
Guest paranoidandy Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 It's legit. I agree with the point of not accepting everything a rep says, but in this case it's real. Pretty happy about it cos I love the phone but 5.0.2 has plenty of buggy bits.
Guest BigD18t Posted September 8, 2015 Report Posted September 8, 2015 I can see it being true, As vodafone uk offer free SKY go service with their deals and it does not work while on 5.0.2 so upgrading it to 5.1 solves this issue and will keep them from getting a little more bad rep.

I have to agree that that doesn't count as an update. It's pure fluff, I work in a technical help call centre so I can recognise it for what it is... Edited September 17, 2015 by BlueMoonRising
