Guest BlackenedEDIT Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this after the Lollipop upgrade.Updated and everything went smoothly.Hudl had been plugged in and charging for about an hour. I noticed that the lightning bolt icon had disappeared from the battery indicator. I checked the USB at the hudl end and all was plugged in fine. When I touched the official wall charger plugged into mains voltage to check if the USB had been pulled out or something it was RED HOT, like seriously too hot to even pull out of the wall with bare hands.I've killed the power to the socket and used a towel to remove the plug. There is a faint smell of electrical burning coming from the wall charger and the plastic casing has made a few cracking noises as it is cooling down but seriously I'm glad I noticed that the device wasn't charging and investigated. God knows what could have happened if it were a few hours later and I went to bed or something. So What do I do? Is this likely to be a Lollipop power management bug? Could it be a faulty charger? What do you reckon? I've owned the tablet for the best part of a year.Scary stuff Edited September 28, 2015 by BlackenedEDIT
Guest pudpoh Posted September 28, 2015 Report Posted September 28, 2015 This is highly unlikely to have been caused by the lollipop os, sounds more like a fault has developed with your charger. Phone the tech support line or drop into one of the stores with it to get it sorted out, they should just replace your charger.
