So it seems Tesco have canned the Hudl project... what a shame :( i love mine and was sorta planning on getting a couple more for my kids at some point...

I guess it wont be that long before someone else manages a similar tablet with 1080p,a SD card slot and a fairly decent processor for the magic £99 price point

Do you think they were losing money on them due to the cost of repairing faults/replacing?

I read that they are abandoning their digital products, so the reason for the Hudl (a vehicle like the Amazon fire to encourage people to use their services) became irrelevant, so they ditched it.

Im still absolutely amazed (and very pleased) that they gave up Lolipop as a goodbye present :) :) :)

Quite why they didn't wait till the new year and get rid of the surplus stock is beyond me. I know the Hudl was a loss leader for Tesco but its still better to hook the Xmas trade I would have thought.  I know of at least 4 people who were planning an Xmas purchase. Bah!

I agree that Lollipop was a lovely swansong for the Hudl.  Its just a shame they hadn't given up the bootloader unlocking to allow enthusiasts to tinker.

I don't think they have any surplus stock to get rid of? My understand is they're sold out.

Wonder how they are going to replace defective tablets.

Wonder how they are going to replace defective tablets.

Perhaps they have to hold back a certain number of units just for that. If replacement is not possible though, they're allowed to make partial or full refunds.

They did have some back room stock including whats left of the accessories in a few stores, according to eyewitness accounts employee friends etc.  But for how long is anyone's guess. They didn't take them off sale last Monday cause there was none at all. The were told to take em down.  no replenishments due in.n
