Hudl 2 showing battery as -1%

I have had my hudl 2 for a while now and it is good but the lollipop update removed root which is a problem. I get my battery as -1% and I can't get any information on my battery life without going to the settings app, where the battery topic has gone.  I did a factory reset but it still didn't work. I also installed battery doctor but it also showed my battery as -1%.

 

Does anyone know how to fix this error?
