Please don't shoot me!

I have just bought a Smart Ultra 6 for the wife after her Samsung Galaxy 3 died a slow death.

I have unlocked it to all networks but would like to get rid of the vodafone branding like the vodafone loading screen, the fact that I have to use message+ etc etc

Is there a way to stick a standard android rom on the phone and if there is, how?

Also will I need to unlock the phone again or will it not affect that?

You can just deactivate the apps.. And to changed the loading screen (the real name, its bootanimation) you need to root your phone. With root you can uninstall the apps instead of deactivate them.

Just install a different text client, I use Textra which is excellent. Most of the Vodafone branded apps can be uninstalled and if not just set them as hidden.

I wouldn't worry about the Vodafone startup animation, it's only there for a few seconds when you reboot.
