Guest Captain Cookster Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 (edited) What the Hell just happened?I will briefly sum up what just occurred to my Hudl2 over the past couple of hours.Im hoping that someone will furnish me with an answer!1) Hudl used daily, no problems on Lollipop. Everything fine and dandy.2) Used right up to about two hours ago when it was put on charge to top up for some gaming later (nightly routine)3) Charged fine.......noticed that YouTube videos and internal videos were stuttering (picture only, not the sound)4) turned internet off, vlc and tried again....... No change.5) Switched off Hudl and restarted.............. Loaded a vid and same stuttering again (hmmmm! Very curious)6) Repeat above step but this time tablet only boots as far as the Hudl logo and no further! WTF! (now I'm panicking a bit)7) Attempt reboot.......Fail.........again.......Fail... Boot into safe mode... No problem.... Reboot from there......Fail....(eh???)8) Safe mode...... Clear cache......success......reboot.....fail! (this must be cursed or something!?) 9) FACTORY RESET! Why though why!Nothing has been installed or altered before the incident.... It does not make sense?Anyone throw some light on this fiasco? Edited November 4, 2015 by Captain Cookster
Guest pudpoh Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 It is quite possible you haven't waited long enough for it to start up. If you have the hudl logo on the screen, just leave it. Mine has occasionally taken a very long time to boot with lollipop, I've had it take around 10 minutes once. As to why I don't know but it did it after crashing watching a YouTube video and ending up with a blank screen although pressing the volume keys still made a sound. So just give it some time, if it doesn't eventually boot then yes you will probably need to perform a factory reset on it to get it going again.
Guest Captain Cookster Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Hmm. I had left it a good 15 mins whilst the logo screen was static. Way too long of course. Same again after reboot..... It was never going to boot into Android.. I'm sure of that.Seems a coincidence it happened around the same time as the video stuttering?
