Guest Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Hi, I followed the instructions regarding unlocking the SPV and I have stumbled on the simplest step of all. Two files have to be editted and they are both .provxml files and I don't know what to use to edit them, I have tried several options (including word, notepad, html etc.) and they don't save the files in the original format. So could anyone help me please? Thanks Steve Birchall
Guest martin G Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 C Drive: left click the file icon - enter properties and disable read-only. You can then use the notepad to edit and save to same file. After the files have been changed - re-enable read-only.

Guest terminater2_uk Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 ok getting really confused now. everytime i alter the files, they are saving as a text document rather than an xml file. what am i doing wrong?
Guest martin Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Do you mean it wants to save as .txt rather than same file name ? If so... Use notepad to edit the XML document that you copied to C drive and then use File - Save (not save as). Also remember that prior to saving, you must first disable the read-only attribute in the file properties to ALLOW the file to be overwritten. (left click file icon)
