Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been posted before but I can't find a recent post with any updates on about the stage of cyanogenmod being ported to the vodafone smart ultra 6, at the moment I have managed to put TWRP as the custom recovery and rooted my phone, so I'm happy to try out any custom ROMs you guys have, if we can't do it for any reason, why not and what do we have to do to be able to put a custom rom on the device, from what I gather from just the general way of phones some phones have locked bootloaders that needs to be unlocked, so is that our issue here?

Sorry for just going on and on haha, first post :P

Cheers,

Chris.

I was having a crack at getting cm12.1 working as a first step. It partially booted but for stuck somewhere in the init main class. That was about a month back then I started playing Elite dangerous and haven't touched the code since.

So yeah, getting cm running is doable but debugging it is a pain. When I get bored with elite I might go back and look at it again.

I read on here that konsta T was willing to work on this device should people club together and buy him one. Shocked nobody took this offer up. I would put money on the fact that he has more knowledge on ZTE devices then any other devs working on them. From my memory I know he was knocking roms out for the original budget ZTE devices on here, aka the original blade and more over 5 years ago. If he's still interested I would put £30 in the fund.

Well I found out why class_start main was hanging in my build. Seems now the next hurdle is finding why the ART files aren't being built.  Slowly slowly. Anyone else actually trying to get a build working?

If it helps the Wileyfox Storm has almost identical hardware to the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6. It looks like it has lots of cm12 builds and ports. I don't know if someone could port a rom from that?
