Fonts on hard to root phone?

Can I change the font on this phone? 

 

 I tried two application which should be able to change the font but they just soft bricked it instead. Does anyone know a way to do this on a hard to root phone? 

 

Also, does Xposed still lag if you don't edit build.prop? Because I couldn't do that back then because again, it soft bricked it.
