Xposed laggy

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Running Smart Ultra 6, v5.0.2, using TWRP from KonstaT

There is a noticeable difference in smoothness and performance once Xposed is installed, is there anything I can do to make it smoother? (I dont think I can edit build.prop though)

FIX:

Ok the fix was posted in another thread but I couldn't get the build.prop changes to stick as my system is write protected (read only).

The fix is here:

^ TLDR:

Comment out these two lines, so your build.prop should be the same but with this instead:

#dalvik.vm.dex2oat-filter = verify-none
#dalvik.vm.image-dex2oat-filter = verify-none

However, of course you cant edit the real build.prop yet. So copy the real one to somewhere like the root of your phone or Downloads for example. Edit it using a text editor and do the above (place a # before those two lines). Save the file. Then boot to recovery mode using TWRP manager or something. [Where I saw this tip: http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/375839-mount-system-rw-fix/?page=2#comment-2266800]

In recovery mode, use File Manager to delete the existing build.prop file in /system/ and move your edited one from "Downloads" to /system/ then chmod the file to 0644.

Install Xposed framework again in recover mode and reboot.

So did this work with the write protection, or didn't it? Just making sure so that I don't uninstall Xposed for nothing...

Nope. Bricked my phone. For the 10th time.

I really hate this system rw protected thing. I'll make sure to avoid all Vodafone/ZTE phones in the future...

Replacing the build.prop in twrp file manager is impossible for me. When I open /system in twrp file manager, folder is empty (only bin folder is there), so I can't access the file.

How... my one was write protected too (by which I mean, only rw access in recovery)
