Guest arther Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) Relatively new to this sort of stuff, so apologies for any missing relevant information or erroneous assumptions. Successfully rooted this device using KonstaT's guide. Bricked the phone a couple of months ago but can't exactly remember how. When the device is powered up, it's stuck at the Android welcome screen. When the phone's put into recovery mode, TWRP works fine. Had a look through the folders but couldn't find either the Zip or IMG which were previously in the sdcard folder (I think). Tried using ADB shell to push the files onto the device, but go a "failed to copy .... :Read only file system" error. Tried using these commands too, to try and find the files with no luck either. Any suggestions on how to get back to the rooted version of the device, or failing that loading a Stock ROM? Thanks in advance for any help. Edited April 10, 2016 by arther
Guest wbrambley Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Try using TWRP to clear dalvic/cache. Look at the log and tell us if it comes up with a similar "read only" error.
Guest arther Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 I clicked the wipe button, swiped to factory reset and got "no read only" error. Everything wiped/formatted, updated partition details and came up as done. Not sure if this relevant also, but if I run the adb root command on the laptop, it comes up as "adbd is already running as root".
Guest wbrambley Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Do you have a SD card? If not you could try side loading something like speedy ROM. Are the partitions mounted in recovery you are trying to write files to? ADB will already be in root mode when using custom recoveries.
Guest arther Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Sideloading it worked a charm. Thanks!
