r1 - MoDaCo Custom Kernel - Honor 5C NEM-L51 [3.10.101 / UBERTC 4.9]

I'm pleased to post my custom kernel. Going forward this will be integrated into MoDaCo Custom ROM also, but it is also available to flash separately if you choose, for example for use with the stock ROM.

Points to note...

• This kernel is ready-patched for root and SELinux permissive by default
• I have patched the Honor kernel source from 3.10.90 to the latest 3.10.101 release
• The kernel is compiled with the UBER toolchain, version 4.9
• The config has been extracted using IKconfig from the B102 release
• The kernel source is available in this repo at Gitlab
• Details on how to build your own kernel are available in this topic

The kernel is in the usual update zip format, so flash using TWRP. And enjoy! Let me know if you have any feature requests, or of course any issues.

It's good to see that our Honor 5C will get alternate Kernels.
Would it be possible to have one with OTG support ?

Yes that's a good thing to have a custom kernel! Thanks a lot !!!

But i think TiwiPewo is right. That will be good to have OTG... The 5X had to activate it, so maybe it's the same for 5C... and a must have for this good phone. That's the only thing that i don't appreciate on it.

If anyone know to do it, can he help us?

You can activate otg from stock rom..install nova launcher and go to widgets and choose activities widget..scroll down until you see the setting that says otg setting activity and long press..you will be taken to the otg setting and when you enable it you will have to restart your phone.hope this helps you

Could you make a kernel for nem-l22 as well..i dont have any experience in building kernel or roms

Sorry but the tips for otg support don't work with original kernel...

When you said to do it with Nova, you will say with the original or the custom kernel?

I haven't tried the custom one for the moment...

And so in Europe, honor 5c is honor 5 c...

You must look the model's number, like nem-l51 for example...

In Poland it's Honor 7 lite  NEM-L21 but isn;t this the same as  NEM-L51 ??

 

Flashed this kernel to NEM-L21 and it's working like a charm. Only SELinux permissive by default not work for me.

Thank you for the tip with Nova Launcher, but unfortunately it doesn't work for me with original kernel nor Modaco's kernel.
 

My phone is NEM-L51 with Modaco Custom Rom r7 B102, kernel 3.10.101-MCK-r1-UBERTC49+
