Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 So who would be interested in forum related T-Shirts, Fleeces, mugs etc. from CafePress? I'm going to get someone to design us a cool logo for the site, so it might be quite fun? Good idea? Bad idea? P PS The new site slogan is 'Smarter SmartPhone' :)
Guest HelloDave Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 You wouldn't be selling out to blatant commercialism now would you Paul? They'll be a MoDaCo Christmas single next, but it'll have to only play one instrument at a time so we can use it as a MIDI ringtone :) One problem - with only a few thousand users, who would know what our T Shirts were about?!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Wouldn't matter, because they would have the URL on :) I wouldn't be in it to make money, i'd be selling at the base CafePress price (i.e. no profit!) P
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 A mousemat would be cool... :)
Guest amo Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 Yeah, i second a mousemat. Dunno about a tee shirt...mug maybe
Guest Vector Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 I would definetly buy a mousemat (how about app unlocking instructions on it. Bit stupid but hey i'm only 14 :) ) , maybe a mug (don't drink much tea or coffee), Clothing (not sure if i'd get stick about it in school). Anyway I think that it would be a good idea to have Modaco merchandise anyway.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 MoDaCo stickers Bumper or otherwise.
Guest madu Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 MoDaCo merchandise.... What next? Mousemat's ok. How about a free mousemat to first 1000 users when 10,000 user limit reached? hehe. As for a mug or tshirt, I spend enough time 'IN' the site 'consuming' its contents.. No thank you. Oh I forgot, I'm a mod, I should be supportive : How about free merchandise to mods then?? :) PS: Everything in this world tends to revolve round the word 'free' dunnit? ;)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 21, 2003 Report Posted February 21, 2003 I'll have a fleece as long as it says MOD on it :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 "11 hundred and counting...." would be sufficient for a personalised item :)
Guest Emad Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Mousemat please, my institute of biology one is starting to warp :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 I have an official AMD reseller one atm, courtesy of MonoCorp :)
Guest yatpeak Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Mousemat would be good, clothing...debatable. But if it had a nice logo... Wyatt
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Mousemat definately, this old IBM one is full of holes, must have been the mouse........... (I'll get my coat)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Hay Paul you'll have to do a poll on which design you you should use if you have a few different ideas. :)
Guest almark Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 What about a competition to design the logo? The winner gets a free T shirt or something. I would pay for a T Shirt, extra extra huge!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Yep, a competition to design the logo is in the pipeline. I think there's enough interest to make this a goer :) P
Guest paulmottley Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Mousemat is a good idea, not sure about t-shirts etc. You will need to have plenty of interest or the unit costs would be too high. I know somebody in the biz if you are looking to source the gear. He only deals with large amounts though(again due to costs).
Guest casper508 Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Mousepad sounds great, not sure about clothing tho. Altho a cap might be a better idea IMHO. Cas

Guest cepheus1 Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Not true about quantity and cost :) The Company who embroider all my business clothing charge a 1 off cost to make the embroidery tape (normally £50) and then will embroider just 1 shirt if that's all you want - a 230gsm Polo Shirt for £12.00! A Fleece for £20.00! Quality! If your interested Paul let me know ;)
Guest Pidder Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 I have a cool star wars mousemat (and i never gonna replace this one) but a shirt would be cool...
