Guest skinnie minnie Posted July 23, 2016 Report Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) With no warning my Hudl 2 appears to have died with a blanj screen and no charge light. Pressing the power and volume buttons in various combinations has no effect. With the back off the battery shows around 3.8V which is the nominl voltage printed on it and this does go up if the charger (which works with my phone) is attached. I have also disconnected the battery to perform a hard reset. My thinking is that either the mother board or the screen is faulty so my question is whether the red charge light being off would indicate that the board is the culprit. Guest oldscot Posted July 23, 2016 Report Posted July 23, 2016 I know nothing much about hardware but you could try connecting to a PC, if the hudl is recognised it would suggest a screen fault. Or possibly a bad connection to the battery?.
Guest skinnie minnie Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 Thanks for the suggestion. Had a go but no joy. I think the next step is to try and get hold of a spares/repar tablet
Guest skinnie minnie Posted July 29, 2016 Report Posted July 29, 2016 Okay. so I bought a Hudl2 with a broken screen off eBay and swapped the main board over. It booted up fine and after restoring factory settings I logged on to my Google account and let auto-restore did it's stuff. Not a difficult job but not for the ham fisted.
