Guest emmab25 Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Hi there, I seem to have problems charging up/powering on my Hudl2, I turned it on Saturday night (unsure of battery percentage at this point) and it started booting as normal but it switched off itself when it got the 'Powered by Android' screen. I thought maybe it did need a charge so plugged it in and left it but the red light did not appear at all. I have since tried various combinations of chargers and resetting methods (reset and factory reset) and have had no luck. The factory reset menu doesn't even come up - it just seems like there is no life at all to it. The only thing I could think is maybe its a screen issue? I did get a few weird lines appear intermittently at the top recently when running a few things on it at the same time but the tablet itself has been well looked after so not sure why the screen would do this. I bought my tablet second hand with a 24 month warranty through a high street retailer (thankfully) but before returning I just wanted to check on here if anyone has had similar issues and can provide any suggestions on how to fix?
Guest oldscot Posted August 8, 2016 Report Posted August 8, 2016 Not sure I can offer much help and this forum seems nearly dead but I have a couple of thoughts. Charge led is not part if screen AFAIK so it still should light if it were a screen fault. Maybe a battery problem? I believe you can change the battery but doubt its easy. EBay would be a start point for that. Is their a local phone/tablet shop (the independent type that do unlocks/repairs) they might be able to at least give some insights? I assume you've already tried the usual hard reset options holding the power button for 15 secs and the recovery option (http://ttselectrical.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3851) Afraid that's about all I can offer :-(
Guest skinnie minnie Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Sounds quite similar to the problems described in my recent post. I would suspect that with a faulty battery the tablet would still appear to be charging. Another possibility is the power board which holds the USB port. I my case it was the mother board. The only way to check if to open it up and check for around 3.8volts on the battery. Some parts are available on eBay and some repair services are also advertised. The simplest approach if you aren't technical is to buy a working used one. Do a factory restore and then log on to Google and let restore do it's stuff. (Assuming you had auto restore on the original)
