how can I reset windows 10 password?

Hello, i have forgotten the Administrator password of my windows 10, and now i'm locked out, i don't wanna reinstall my system due to there are many important data stored in the desktop. So, is there a way to reset it? I do have physical access to the PC.

In most of Windows 10, the login is Microsoft account. If it was the case, you can reset it from here: https://account.live.com/password/reset

it's not the MS online account, that's my local account, is there any way that can reset windows 10 password without system reinstallation?

For advanced users, ntpasswd is the free tool to edit windows password. However, you should be familiar with windows commands.

For beginner, I suggest using UUkeys Windows Password Recovery instead as it has a clean and user friendly interface. You only need a  few clicks to reset windows 10 password.  Plus, you should prepare a branded new USB drive to get it done.
