Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 This looks like a pretty good deal to me! (And they deliver to the UK!) P http://www.gomadic.com/powsyncabcar.html
Guest MBoden Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Yes, cheaper than the expansys USB autosync+charger cable too, let us know when you've tried it ;-)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 I've already ordered the Expansys one... P
Guest MBoden Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 damn....well at least there's a "for sale" section on this site ;-)
Guest Richie M Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 :D you could always buy this as well http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=EXP_USB-CLA
Guest Richie M Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002  oh well, I've took the plunge and ordered the kit from the US, only $27.45 including postage (that is Dollars) i'll let you all know when it arrives etc. :D
Guest pupton Posted December 6, 2002 Report Posted December 6, 2002 I ordered a £10.99 cable from Ebay - user supertuur and it works a treat! on my SPV. Sorted!
Guest Tim Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I received my Expansys charge and sync cable today and it works absolutely fine !
Guest Danlance Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 :D Ordered mine Friday from gomadic :( Recieved it Monday :( Works a treat - syncs and charges... (though not tested car adapter yet...) :? Just need to pesuade Wife I need a larger SD card...
Guest Rob_Quads Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 How about this - its the USB charger cable for £12.99 inc delivery http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=1945146129 And then the car charger adaptor for only http://www.proporta.com/detail.asp?id=318 £9.94 Total price 22.93 Suppose importing it may be cheaper - all depends if it gets nabbed for taxes $27.45 = ~£18 So it will be £18 or about £21.50 + handling charge of something like £5 if I remember rightly -> ~ £26/27
Guest Danlance Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 No Handling charge... Attached to box - official lokking US Post Force sticker describing contents: PDA cable: $10 Car adapter: $5 total value $15 which brings it under the import tax limit... 8)
Guest Rob_Quads Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Cool - How much did it cost you in £ in the end

Guest AndyB Posted January 15, 2003 Report Posted January 15, 2003 Can anyone let me know where I can buy a car charger for the SPV. Thanks AndyB
Guest Hax Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Hi guys, Just thought that you might be interested in this eBay shop: http://www.stores.ebay.co.uk/id=36214385 They've got USB sync and charge cables for SPV plus the in-car USB power adaptor for just £14.99 + £2 postage. I've ordered one this afternoon and will update you about it worthiness and the quality of delivery from the seller when it arrives. Hax UPDATE (27th January 2003): Cable arrived on either Friday or Saturday (I was away so not sure when exactly!) and so far, works fine with both sync and charge! I've read some reports stating that the charge function doesn't work because USB is only rated to 500mA - currently charging with just 64mA being reported used, so the excess must just be for surges in activity. But I guess that it may also depend on your PC...... Anyways, works for me and the supplier is prompt - what more can I say??? Does exactly what it says on the tin ;) Not tried car USB adapter for charging via the cable, but I hope that should be a lot less to worry about.....
