ZTE Light V9 tab - Updates and Rom change? Need links

Good Day.

I recently purchased a ZTE light v9 tab but this phone is so outdated, I can't connect to the market android / playstore to download applications. Plus the original look is boring and the videos online show how some have upgraded to Kitkat OS and better ROMs. Can someone please send step by step instructions on how to change this TAB into a useful tool before I go mad? 

I need a Rom upgrade to allow me access to the current apps market.
