Guest flashfodder Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 How to make WAV files compatible with your phone. This can also reduce the size of WAV files already compatible with the SPV. The SPV is compatible with WAV files of 64kbps or more. This procedure will create your soundbite at 64kbps. If you have soundfiles with a faster speed than 64kbps. By reducing the speed you can considerably reduce the size. To do this, you need 'Sound Recorder'. The simple recording function that is available on almost every windows format. The program is usually located at 'start/programs/accessories/entertainment' though this can vary slightly depending on which system you use. 1) Open the sound recorder. Locate the file needed & open within. 2) click 'file/save as'. At the bottom of the save window is a button marked 'change'. Click this button. 3) A new box will appear. Simply click ok. Do not change any settings as you could increase the file size 10 fold. 4) Now, make sure you've chosen a filename & click save. You will now have the soundbite you require at a speed compatible with the Orange SPV. 5) transfer the file to IPSM/Application Data/Sounds and you can now chose it in the settings. Please note; you can also do this with notes you have made on your SPV. To do this though, you will have to move the file from 'IPSM/My Documents/Notes' to a location on your PC. Once there you can then access the file within Sound Recorder & change the speed. Hope this helps anyone as frustrated as I was.
